Friday, December 8 wrapped up the 11th Annual V Week for Cancer Research, an event hosted by ESPN across all their platforms. V Week begins on Giving Tuesday, and brings awareness to the V Foundation for Cancer Research, a top-rated cancer research organization, started in 1993 by ESPN and the late NC State basketball coach, Jim Valvano.
V Week served to encourage supporters to donate to the V Foundation, honored Coach Valvano’s legacy with the Jimmy V Men’s & Women’s Basketball Classics, and through its programming, shared personal and intimate stories from patients, researchers, care-givers, loved ones, doctors and nurses. This year, V Week also promoted the 2018 Victory Ride, which offers fans and supporters another way to get involved and raise critical funds for the V Foundation.
There was some great media coverage of V Week, including interviews with Sherrie Mazur, VP of Communications for The V Foundation for Cancer Research. If you missed it, check out the links below!
You can keep the spirit of V Week going strong by registering for the Victory Ride today. Ride with us on May 19, 2018 toward victory over cancer!
