Route Description
The 100-mile route will take us on a scenic tour of the Triangle, starting in the heart of NC State University’s Centennial Campus. From there, we’ll head west through the campus toward Umstead State Park, where we’ll track north in a slow, steady incline along a tree-lined route. We will head west with long stretches of smooth riding through Research Triangle Park that will lead to the best climb of the day as we reach “The Hill” and take a quick spin around Chapel Hill. Next is a cool ride through the woods and a brief cruise through Durham. In the latter half of the ride, we will tour gorgeous Falls Lake State Recreation Area, where we’ll enjoy miles and miles of uninterrupted peddling featuring the best of North Carolina’s scenic beauty. In the home stretch, we’ll ride through the old, secluded neighborhoods and slightly undulating hills along the northern and eastern edges of Raleigh before heading back into NC State’s Centennial Campus for a post-ride celebration including food, drinks and music.
